anybody dealt with an Accelerator Pedal Position Sensor?...limp mode!
My car is stuck in limp mode. I replaced the MAF but im still getting the code for the accelerator pedal position sensor and the first set of O2s. I dont see the O2s' putting my car in limp mode so im not testing that yet- I ran a couple test on vag-com to see what my throttle % was. Its supposed to be from 12%-97% and i got 12%-77%....I dont know exactly what that meens except for i am only getting 77% of throttle but even at 77%, i should still be getting boost. Not bogging istead of boosting. I get 1lb of boost that puts the car in limp mode-
Anybody ever dealt with the pedeal position sensor befor?
Thanks

Any EPC problems and you're sure to be stuck in limp mode.
The Drive by wire cars implement 2 potentiometers reading in opposite direction to ensure a valid input. If the two inputs do not correspond then the Car will run in a limp mode to protect the customer from unintended acceleration, aka lawyer-mode. Get the pedal situation fixed first, I'd check the connector, ground, or just buy a new one....

The Accelerator Position Sensor isnt $50, its $200 and labor on it is a PITA..
Do you guys think thats what it is? Does anybody know how that sensor functions? I just dropped $200 on a MAF when i didnt need to. i dont want to drop $200+ more for something else that i dont need.
Thanks-

Umm, ok, it was $58 :) I replaced mine in February. Labor on it is not a PITA.

Remove the panel under the dash and the accelerator pedal is held in with three allen screws and one connector. I didn't even bother taking pictures for a writeup.
If you're feeling lucky, take out the old pedal, remove the side cover and make sure the sliders are making solid contact with the circuit board, then reassemble. This seemed to fix mine, but I replaced it anyway since it wasn't worth getting stranded somewhere with a dead slow car.
Maf is around $120-130 right now, and it's easier to replace than the pedal.
