Default Nope, he did R&R my engine and tranny overnight when we found shoddy work from a previous shop

Up till 4am two nights in a row to get me home in time for my birthday.

Was supposed to be a friday downpipe swap, we found loose motor mounts, wrong studs, misadjusted wastegates, loose and siezed trans mounts, heatshields in wrong, poor clamps. Mike ripped it out that night, fixed all the problems, and had me on my way the next day.

Could have just wrapped it back up friday and sent me home with my broken car but he didn't.

I'd say this was 1-2am on a sunday, YMMV:

Default cool. i know he can be or is a bad *** at what he does. maybe,

stress of demand or lack there of is getting to him? i have never questioned his help before in the past and have always thought of him as a stand up guy. i am sure if we lived in the same town, we would be best of friends by now. his knowledge of these cars is awsome and i wish that i had the same know how as the almighty "piggie". he has brought a plethora of information and ideas to this forum with mind tingling results and i wish him the best in his quest of efforts and dedication to the S4.
but, the threats that he has been sending me by email are crazy! i owe him nothing and paid him everything before we even conducted business that's why he sent me the chip. this is embarassing for him but i do not feel sorry. mike, tell me who's the dead beat now sir? if you want to continue this, that's fine. i have nothing to loose here on aw, but you have your life tied up into this. if you want to **** with the bull, you will get the horn. obviously i am not the crazy one here, i have email upon email to prove it. i have tried to communicate with mike privately for awhile dealing with this issue to resolve it in a respectable manner. he has exposed this while at the same time exposing himself.

"And all our yesterdays have lighted fools
The way to dusty death. Out, out, brief candle!
Life's but a walking shadow, a poor player
That struts and frets his hour upon the stage
And then is heard no more: it is a tale
Told by an idiot, full of sound and fury,
Signifying nothing." The Tragedy of Macbeth
William Shakespeare
cheers.

Default Lot of demand, some people take him for granted and abuse him a bit too.

not naming names, my opinion from hanging out.

anyway

I always look at it from the standpoint of the time, money and hassle he saves people over say, most audi dealers.

Random figures below:

If I can do it for $80, he can do it for me for $120 (his time, hassle, "warranty"/attachment to the job), dealer would be $600, and take 3 days to a week.

I wish I was closer, takes 2 1/2 hours to get there, so I have to weigh the travel vs, just buckling down and getting dirty. I do most stuff short of a motor pull, or anything that is faster with a special tool he has

I do feel for all the MN people that have to go elsewhere once they got used to having Mike as a resource, it was pretty wierd not having him as close as he was when he was out there. I did drive out to MN once for work though :O

Default Why don't you just let this go? And deal with him personally on this..

Besides I know a few people on this board that still owe him hundreds of dollars for the work he did on there cars. I'm sure your frustrated with him but why keep bringing this up here?

Default I may not know the whole story but i do know this....

I've known Mike for 3+ years now and he is as straight as they come. He's always very honest with any business dealings i've had with him. **** he's the only one that ever touches my car when it comes to major repairs. as a matter of fact, he's so honest and layed back with folks always owing him $$$ that he sometimes gets hurt for not being pushy enough to get it. He's obviously fed up with getting hurt and screwed by shady people sticking him with money owed to him. i shipped my car to his house and flew outthere last year to get major work done to my car, i shacked up in his house and trust me i know the kinda person he is. YOU'RE THE FIRST that ever brought up any negative towards mike shimon.
i hope you guys work it out here soon...
