ANYONE ELSE HEARING THE GRINDING IN THE TRANSMISSION BETWEEN 1ST & 2ND GEAR? IF SO WHAT IS IT?

Just brought mine in today with the grind problem.
When the car is revved above ~4000-4500 RPM, a pull back into 2nd gear produces a horrible grind.
Experiment with yours and see if you can pin point when it happens.
Service said the syncros are gone, and they are contacting Audi Engineering to figure whether a rebuild or replacement of the transmission is in order.
Check www.audizone.com, in January, he had the same problem.
