Anyone else pissed off at STOPTECH?
So they stopped selling retail directly. I know they have a reason to do this - and it involves their resellers but its still a bad idea.
Theyre a smaller company with a good loyal following. They didnt used to be a nameless, faceless company. But slowly they will become one
If you have stoptechs, odds are you know the guy and stoptech who sold them to you.
If you have brembos or alcons, you dont know the guy at alcon, or brembo who sold them.
Its just sad that they are going from selling direct to being just a manufacturer. Now we're going to loose the intimate connection with their company.
Also now we have to rely on other tuners who have less knowledge about the product and in some cases are just douchebags. I wont name any names, but we've all dealt with ****ty aftermarket tuning companies, and now instead of being able to deal with stoptech we have to deal with ****heads.
Very dissapointing. To me all the above mentioned was part of the reason I went with Stoptech. Knowing I could call them up and say "whats going on with the stuff you sold me". Apparently that didnt last very long.
Oh and another thing, now that we have to deal with ONLY resellers, you can bet your sweet *** that prices will go up, because now we have a MIDDLE MAN! oh and I KNOW they will go up, cause theyve already had, I played the price game with the resellers and stoptech today and Im not very happy about it at all.
Before this I wouldnt have questioned the next set of brakes I buy on whatever vehicle I get next. I wouldnt have second guessed what product to recommend.
I can honestly say that I dont know if Ill stay with them now. Why would I? Whats their benefit? A couple hundred bucks on a $2k purchase?
Might as well gamble with some other reseller now.
