Anyone ever have belt pulley bearings go bad???
I am getting some bad noises from the belt area. Its not a belt sqeel like a slipping belt but more like a low res tone that can fluctuate from time to time. I listened to a normal running s4 and mine and mine definately sounds different. It also seems worse at initial start up and it sounds like its getting progressively worse. 6spd with 52k miles on the clock. Turned the power steering a bunch but no noise changes. (so its probably not that pully)

Could be any of those parts in that area...
I recently had all my tensioners replaced along w/ the water-pump. Problem solved. If you listen to the video you can hear a low tone sound in the background especially towards the end of the file.

http://www.engr.uconn.edu/~bid03001/MVI_0491.avi

I dont plan it letting go another day, calling the stealer tomorrow...
I have audi assured, hopefully they dont pull any bs on me. I dont imageine they will. If they have to replace a pully I am gonna have them go ahead and do the timing belt tensioners, water pump, rollers etc. Probably most of the labor costs will be eaten up by the warentee repair. I imagine they could only nail me for an hour or two of labor once the whole front end is yanked off. The parts, i am sure they will make up for it. Anyone have a parts list of what should be done for this sort of maintenance work? I know ecs has a kit but a few other things are needed.

see this right here
seems like the kit is missing a tensioner and the TB tensioner dampener .

https://forums.audiworld.com/s4/msgs/1867849.phtml</a

I just had acc belt tensioner replaced for bearing failure @ 65k
The bearing was making noise for a couple weeks but the dealership was backed up. It finally seized and sent the pulley into the fan about a week before my appointment.

Sounds familiar....the stealer said they couldn't bring me in..
till feb 1 if I wanted a loaner car!!!!! They said I can stop by tomorrow and I will raise a bit of caution to them if they decide to sit on it. They will be responsible for any additional damage..... I think I am gonna have them go in and change out the timing belt etc assuming they have to take the front end off to change the pully.
