Anyone ever have a secondary coolant pump leak? ...
...I'm talking about the pump located in the 'V' of the engine.
If so, how did you diagnose the problem? Where (engine location) did you discover coolant that had leaked?

I had that leak at 30,000 miles. Basically the coolant reservoir was empty. (edit)
I was able to top it up with water to make sure the leak was slow and got it to the dealership on Monday for the repair.
The puddle underneath my car was simply underneath the engine. Not in a spot that would let me identify it as one or the other. In my Porsche 928S4 which has a similar front engine design, pump failures produce a puddle directly beneath the timing belt cover.

It's a very common coolant leak actually. You'll notice it running down primarily.....
on the driver's side of the trans bell housing. It may look like the left turbo's leaking, but if you follow the trail up.....
What's really annoying too, when diagnosing them, is sometimes they only leak after you've shut off the engine after a hot drive(when it actually runs)! Can be very irritating under the wrong circumstances....

Yup......
Came back to start car, coolant warning on, found reservoir empty, coolant under the car.
Seal failed, pump kept running & pumped collant over board.
Had car towed in (towing company damaged front bumper of course), dealer fixed in 1 day - this at 15k miles.
