Default Anyone familiar w/ trans rear output shaft seal replacement? Is this A8 writeup close enough

to get me through the job on the S4 (exhaust differences aside)? I don't have access to Bently so I've been searching archives (amongst other places) in preparation.

<a href="http://www.audipages.com/Tech_Articles/auto_transmission/transealreplacement.html">A8 Output Seal Replace</a>

Any tips are much appreciated.

Default Does the Torsen housing need to be removed in order to remove driveshaft on a 6sp? It's mentioned

in this post, vaguely:

Default No no no...Just unbolt the driveshaft from the output flange on the back of the transmission, and

then remove the output flange from the transmission by removing it's retaining bolt.

#4 is the seal in question. They recommend using a press but you should be able to improvise with everything still on the back of the transmission.
