They are okay. they have excellent bite when cold, but not great when they warm up. they are not at all for track use, they wear rapidly. a big problem is they dust a lot, and people say they have a tendancy to warp rotors.

I prefer porterfield R4S pads (having used both types). Not quite as good on a dead cold bite, but when they heat up a little, they perform very well. Don't dust too much and are pretty easy on rotors. A little pricy, but a good pad, imho.

Default Everything that you described is exactly opposite to their marketing claims...

and from feedback I just got from Luke at the rack. He said they were a great solution for brake dust and ran great at high temp, up to 1000 degrees F.

Now I'm really confused....

yeah well don't believe everything you hear... when they first came out, that was what everybody was saying.... they are the greatest thing since sliced bread, etc. but when people started using them, the results were slightly different. there were quite a few people using them in the honda camp, but after comparing notes, people realized they weren't really that great.

but like I said, take a look at porterfield. I'm going to wear down my greens a little more, then get some new rotors (mine have 115k) and order my second set of porterfields.

thats my suggestion, anyway. don't believe all the hype around them.

I don't have experience with other brand of pads, so I can't comment in comparison there. but the consensus (among honda folk) is generally they aren't too great.

Default "When people started using them...." That means you never used them and you believe in what...

everyone else told you? Well, I have them in the A4. I don't know if they are available for the S4. They are the best pads I have used so far. Heat up fast and good bite for everyday driving and AutoX. A different heat compound should used for track like the reds or blacks. The best part, wiping the rims once a month with a facial tissue is all it takes to remove whatever dust is there because it isn't coming from the brake pads - they produce virtually no dust. Great pads IMO

Default The rack has them for the S4 and they're very reasonable compared to other S4 pads I've seen.

$129!!

Default That's pretty good. The reds and blacks are more expensive though. I'll check the rack as I need

some for my TT and Passat.

I got mine at an independent retailer as I was desperately looking for something better than my Mintex and Stock. He had the Porterfield's in stock, but after some discussion, we decided on the greens. I'm not dissappointed, now I'll just try to get them cheaper elsewhere
