Default Anyone have the same rattle from driver's side rear?

It sounds like leather rubbing and squeaking against plastic. I finally figured out after getting someone to ride in the back seat that it is the side window rubbing against it's frame. Hopefully this can be fixed. Anyone else experience this?

Default Same squeak in my car, had it in my A4 too...

If I remember correctly in the A4 forum they suggested spraying a silicon lube on the rubber frame to stop the noise. I don't know if it worked because I never tried it, but I think I will on this car.

Default contact Audi

I had a similar problem in a 96 A4. The dealer - Heishman's in Alexandria VA was hopeless - denied that the problem existed. I contacted Audi directly and they sent someone to my home to look at the car. It took some effort, but it was resolved but the dealer did more to prevent a solution than to find one.

Default Re: Anyone have the same rattle from driver's side rear?

Jeff,

I had (have) this problem. Service manager said that it is a problem with the adhesive used to attach the small rear window. He ordered a replacement window for me since removing the window to properly re-attach often results in a break. Anyway, window was replaced. Seems to be better, but I also have other stray noises that I have not isolated yet.

Good luck.

John
