I'd add a couple things to that... more event oriented than driving though.
1) If you're not 100% certain you'll remember to disable ESP, stick a sticky note on your dash where you can't miss it when you're staging.
2) Wheel chocks are a godsend. They're less than $10, and I've had problems finding a good enough rock before
3) Rock the car during the first 5 minutes or so of having it parked and idling. By rock, I mean roll it slowly forwards and backwards by a foot or so, so the brake pads won't cool over one spot on the rotors. Uneven cooling == rotor warping.
