I wonder if one is available for the 2.7T engine<ul><li><a href="http://www.splitsec.com/products/1.8TBCS.htm">http://www.splitsec.com/products/1.8TBCS.htm</a</li></ul>

I may get flamed for this, but from what I've read (in limited sources) this is a viable alternative
as it doesn't void your warranty the same why replacing the ECU (or chipping) does. All this does is take the signals that the cars ECU receives and uses to make decisions, and changes those signals, basically tricking the stock ECU into providing more boost. From what I understand, while it may not work as perfectly as a new chip, you maintain your warranty since you haven't changed anything electronically.

As I understand it, talking w/ a WRX owner who has one, you'll run lean
because your dumping more air w/o more fuel.
Next stop CEL that will need to be reset. At least that's what happened to him

How did they work. Did it provide the same increase in performance as a chip?
(as I don't personally know anyone that installedone)? Granted, I know a chip does more than manages just the boost (i.e., fuel air mixture, spark advance, timing, etc.) but curious if the seat of the pants feel is the same. Also, did the dealer give them a hard time about it?

seat of the pants feel...just about the same...but those things you just....
mentioned are what I would be worried about. What you got to do is make sure to take some baseline plots and see what is lagging when you start increasing intake pressure/wastegate duty cycle.
As far as the dealer is concerned...I don't know, but they'd have to look a bit closely to tell. We kept the same friction tape wrap in the harness...but it's still easy to see for someone who works on these all the time...I guarantee it would be easier for the dealer to void you out.
