Default about 2 hrs . . .

Just make sure you swing 280S to Hwy 85 to get to 101S, much easier IMO. Any other locals agree?

We should all trade phone numbers so we can hook up at LS!

Default and watch it on 101 south of Gilroy....

Once 101 gets twisty south of Gilroy, use your V1. It's not a freeway, and the CHP patrol the heck out of that stretch. Coming up from LA, check out highway 25 south of Hollister for a good remote set of twisties. Cut over from 101 at San Lucas (southern Salinas Valley) and have fun. It's a better motorcycle road, but pretty fine in an S4. Lots of twisties since you're following the San Andreas fault, with a few straightaways that open up with good visibility.

Go wild-

Default I'm staying very near Monterey in a hotel. But I've already got a roomate.

I paid boookoo bucks though, as there were few alternatives. They all hovered around $200/night. Oh well. You only do this a few times anyway.
