Default Anyone know how to modify and install A4 two piece headlights into an S4?

Same year (2000), but want to take two-piece unit from A4 and install on my S4.

Big deal or no?

I searched the forums, but I kept getting A4's upgrading to onepiece units.

Default it was a homemade thing, you can do it to your one peice

bake your lights, pull the cover off, paint the inside ( not where light is going to reflect) and then silicon your lens back on.

its an easy mod, if you want to do it i can find the exact temps and time used for other lights, shouldnt differ too much. plus it will look better with a one peice

Default 2000 A4s have 1 peice headlights. I think pre-99.5 A4s had the 2 peice headlights.

I've only heard of the 2-peice owners modding to 1-piece headlights, not the reverse.

Similar to asking how to install a 1.8T motor into an S4. Just silly.

Default here

disclaimer: these are directions for a dsm. they are the same as all of the others so im sure they are the same for ALL headlights.

i am not responsible for you messing anything up, it has been done successfully so if you mess up its your own ***!!!!

1.heat to 400degrees

2.take clips off of headlights and bulbs out

3.put headlights on a foil sheet on a rack in the over for about 5-6 minutes

4.pull the clear cover off of the headlight.

5. paint the part of the headlight that is not going to reflect light. ( not the round thing around the xenon, and not the silver square the the lowbeam illuminates... do corner if you are feeling saucy, i dont remeber if its supposed to be done on the S4 or not).paint with regular spray paint ( really any kind will work)

6. let dry

7. put all peices back in the oven to get the glue all gooey again.( few minutes)

8. put together and clip. let cool down
