Default Anyone know how to repair the threading of an oil pan?

I don't think it's just the plug... What I'm talking about is if the drain plug seems to hit some 'hitches' when threading out.

The situation happened when a properly threaded drain plug (NOT cross-threaded) "popped" it's thread when somebody tightened it too much... it used to go in smoothly, now it requires effort because of these hitches...

Is there some way to fix something like this without replacing the whole oil pan?
