my airbag light comes on when cold, flickers as car warms up and turns off after about 20 minutes of use.. I think the metal in one of the sensors expands as it heats up and makes contact as its suppose to with its connection, i want to inspect though.. tia

Air Bag System
I understand your frustration, maybe this can help. First, working on the Air Bag system can be a dangerous proposition if you are not knowledgeable with the fundamentals. Using a volt meter to test circuits could accidentally deploy an Air Bag causing serious injury. That being said, I would only use the VAG to read fault codes and address the code stored in the module. I have attached the page from the manual listing the fault codes and corrective action. This should help identify the problem for you. Good luck

My A6 2.7l biturbo 6 speed does the same thing. I think that flooded or damp passenger side seat connections or maybe side impact sensor connections need to be taken apart and cleaned. Oddly there are no DTCs present when the airbag module is scanned with VAG-COM. I am pretty sure that there are no airbag front sensors only side impact sensors on the B5 model S4 for the US market.
