Everyone here prefers the B5. Mine has been incredibly reliable, but not everyone is that lucky.

Are you sure you want to put "B5 S4" and "reliability" in the same sentence?

Default mpg is *severely* right foot dependent. Mine has started great in -30 weather.

The oil takes quit awhile to warm up, so it can be a pain to stay out of boost for 20 minutes or so.

That's easy, just find yourself a healthy APR Stage 3 S4 then you are all set.

Default How cold is cold? Mines APR Stg3, needs nothing and has never stranded me, also for sale =-)

Not an avant though. Cold weather isn't a problem for the APR cars(all OEM tested/certed components). Other Stg3 kits may do well also.

Mine starts right up no matter what the temp here(SC, 15deg coldest in winter, 100+ during the summer).
