Anyone know what causes fan blades to break off?
So for the past couple days I've noticed that my car was making some weird noises coming from the engine. Today in the morning it sounded worse so I popped the hood and found this:

It was on top of the engine. It is a fan blade and here a the pic of the fan where the blade broke off.

Anyone know what would cause this? This is not the first time this has happened to me. When my car was getting k04's put in by induktion they found that my fan only had 1 blade on it, so it was replaced.
Also, would this be covered under warranty or not? TIA

Bad Viscous Fan Clutch (chicken or egg?)
Just noticed I had three blades missing last week. Brought it into shop on Thursday, they said I could drive it and told me to bring it back Tuesday while they waited for the new fan blade to arrive. Over the weekend a fourth blade came off and put two holes in my brand new radiator. Turns out the viscous fan clutch was bad . . . they tell me that can cause vibrations that can crack the blades. I can't help but think that driving around with half my blades missing wouldn't be good for the bearings in the clutch . . . I wonder which came first. But, anyway, it could be a bad viscous fan clutch.
