i was contemplating doing this since i didnt do the tmc option when i did the navplus install...
for those that have done it, was it quick and painless or is it a thing to have done by a pro?

I don't know if this is what you were referring to, but the HKS CAMP system

saw this before, but the problem is this doesn't work with CAN bus and i am planning to buy it together with my friends' RS6 and A4. Thanks anyway.

Can't do it to the best of my knowledge. Likely someone fed a PC into the Nav display with a Dietz
adapter and had the VAG installed on the PC with a direct connection to the diag port.

take 1.5-2 hours by a pro
and a bit longer if you have not done it before.
you need to tap the line for boost, switch over oil drain plug, and pop the radio and put in the bridge adapter.. follow by of course take over one of the button of your trip computer
if you don't have tmc it will be perfect.
i did mine with tmc, so i have to wait for CAN too
