Anyone running BFGoodrich KDW-2 tires?
|
I had the previous generation g-Force KDWs and I loved them
aggressive handling, great traction wet and dry (track tested), and great wear....a little noisy after they wear in.

I am...
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/16074/bls_gt3s.jpg"></center><p>They're a pretty decent tire. I haven't really
had the opportunity to "push" them in the weather conditions these tires were designed for (summer), but my 5 month experience with them has been pretty good. My observations on handling with these tires may be a little skewed, b/c I am running a stiffer suspension than when I had S03's. With that said, dry performance is on par with S03's (8-9/10). I don't experience as much tram lining with these tires as I did with the S03's. They also seem to be a quieter tire. As far as wet performance goes, KDW-2's may or may not grip as well. I'd like to get some more experience with these tires in the wet during the warmer climates before I make a definitive judgement. Being that these are summer tires and I've only had a winter to play with them doesn't help. When I bought these tires, they were considerably cheaper than S03's, ~$160/tire. Now they're over $200/tire...are they worth it, that's a hard decision. To be honest with you, I chose these tires b/c I thought the tread pattern was pretty neat and wanted to try a different/new tire. HTH |
So, they have gone up in price? That's what I thought. I priced them out in the winter
and they were in that 160 range, and when I went to buy a set, I ended up with S03s since they were cheaper...and they had the reputation.
I hear they are a little noisy. How would you compare the road noise to the S03s? |
Yeah, although I can't understand the $40/tire jump in price.
I don't think they're noisy, but what do I know...
I'm too busy listening to my VM3 =^) |
lol - so true...the VM3 would mask any noisy tires =)
