What groove are you using front and back?

MY 2000 or 2001-02

I'm going to be replacing my old non grooved 1st generation weak a$$ Bilsteins out soon and would like to know the set up before disassembly.

Default you must have gotten the old "neespeed bilstein" shocks wiht neuspeed springs huh?

as far as ride height, thats agoign to be determined by your spring and where the perch is. compare the grooves on the new bilsteins to that of the old. That should tell you what you need to know. The effects from the higher gas charge should be minimal in terms of ride hieght.

Default Yes. Different part numbers and everything compaired to the new ones.

My front shock part numbers actually had S4 at the end of the number.

I've had them on the car since 5/01 and 90K miles.

Default I am and I used the "stock" grooves - which is middle in the front and top in the rear (m)

If you like a LOW car, go down a groove front and maybe two in the rear. The new grooves are 10 mm aprt in the front and wtill 5 mm in the rear. May car is pretty level (although I believe the drivers side is loer than the pass. side by a little bit) and sits around 25.5 or SLIGHTLY higher front and rear.

you can chack my pic poster for some pics, BUT the car has come down a little since then -- it sits a little lower.

Default The ride is nice - MUCH better than stock, but not rough at all . . .

If anything, I'd say it's a little softer than I expected.
