Default Anyone seen the DP's on ebay for $1100, they look nice and according to imagine audi, they are

comprable to the APR DP's and cats, here is what the seller told me:

B&B makes APR and the systems we use are custom made by
B&Bs biggest competitor. We sell more SS systems for Porsche and Audi then
anyone else in the market. These units are guaranteed for life and are
designed with factory fitment in mind. Simple bolt and go.

I had asked if they were APR pipes due to their obvious similarity.
here is the ebay link.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=1869080644</a

Default Hmmm..............

"We sell more SS systems for Porsche and Audi then anyone else in the market."

I think we, here on AW, have a good feel for the aftermarket world (at least in the US). Yet even saying that, I don't think I could come up with the one exhaust manufacturer that meets the above claim. Obviously, there is one, but who?

My best guess would be Borla. Anyone wish to comment? Remember to think all Audis, not just S4s

Default I'm betting he means that they sell more of the SS system that anyone else not that SS outsells

anyone else.... which based on the fact that i haven't heard of anyone with the SS system installed, puts them at about 15th or so overall.

Default agreed, they do appear to be APR's pipes, i'll post the whole reply from the guy when I asked him

the same thing:

They are not APR. B&B makes APR and the systems we use are custom made by
B&Bs biggest competitor. We sell more SS systems for Porsche and Audi then
anyone else in the market. These units are guaranteed for life and are
designed with factory fitment in mind. Simple bolt and go. If you have any
question please feel free to call our office/shop. I am the owner as well as
the tuner so ask for me.

Default They look like the GHL DP's....

...and I found an old post in the archives that claims that GHL designed APR's DP's. (not sure if that's true or not).

Here's a photo of GHL's DP's directly off of their website:

Default They really won't work too well if the o2 sensors are whre they are pictured

You will throw codes if you are not running APR software to go with them (unless they re-located the 2nd o2 sensor after the cat.) Anyone care to disagree?

Default I assumed that SS meant "stainless steel"....

So I thought they were claiming to sell more stainless steel systems than any other stainless steel system manufacturer, which made me wonder which of the big players they are?

Now, if "SS" is their line (model name, etc) of exhausts, naturally, they sell more than anyone else That's like AWE saying that they sell more AWE exhausts than anyone else.

Looking at the recent posts, if this is indeed GHL, well then I think they are claiming that the combined number of Audi&Porsche sales is more than anyone else. Others may sell more of one or the other, but no one sells more of *both combined*. Well, I can believe that (misleading) claim.
ie if GHL sells 25 Porsche exhausts and 2 Audi exhaust systems (DPs), and APR sells 21 Audi systems, well then GHL "sell more <stainless steel> systems for Porsche and Audi" than APR (27 vs 21), even though that 21 is greater than the 2 Audi sales by GHL. It's all in the wordy marketing. They're using the number of Porsche sales to make it appear that they're a big Audi player, which they're not.

Or, we could completely invalidate the claim because they used the word "then", not "than", so actually that claim makes no sense whatsoever.

"We sell more SS systems for Porsche and Audi then anyone else in the market."

Default I asked them where exactly are the 02 sensors and the pics don't lie

So yes you will absolutely throw a code without APR's tweak.. Too bad, a little more attention to how the setup should be and they would of had a seller.. $1000-$1100 for some nice looking DP's you bet!!

So the search is still on for a good set for that amount. I think if autospeed would step up, those would be a good DP to do a write up on.
