anyone who has installed a UUC shifter, please help!!

anyone who has installed a UUC shifter, please help!!
do i really need all of the tools listed in the instructions? such as the circlip pliers and a socket wobble attachment? because i don't have these tools and don't want to purchase them unless i really have to. thanks for your help
