Anyway to identify a short shifter without un-installing it? I just found this out...
My shifter, which I had always thought was stock, was acting sort of weird. Very notchy, not smooth, sometimes wobly when in gear etc...
So while my car was at the Audi dealership, I told them to check it out and possibly "adjust" it. Turns out that they say I have an aftermarket short shifter on the car (when I bought it from Audi) and it's def. not stock. I put on a B6 S4 shift **** and alcantrara black boot so I thought maybe they were just assuming - but they assured me that the actual shifter assembly was a short shifter.
What I was wondering if there was a way to identify which SS it is without taking it apart. The height is stock also. Any help is appreciated, thanks!

You can tell it's a Piggie SS if...
it has his "marking" on it!

Not sure about the other brands like B&M, Tanoga, etc, though.

Very cool. We'll have to meet up! I'll let you know about gtgs. Oh, DocSlow...
I was at Casey's last night, you know, the bar I was telling you about that has a midget in a little house on the end of the bar? Well, apparently he's not "available" on Thursday nights. I see a potential job opening for you!!
