Default AoA Rox You read it here (long)

I took my car in earlier today to the dealer for my 25K service. I also had a surging and misfiring problem until the car was warm. The dealer needed to keep the car overnight in order to "fully diagnose the problem." No problem, I'll just get a loaner for the night. I called them at 5pm and they setup the loaner, the S being my only car, I kind of needed something. They set it up thru National Car Rental, I just had to go there and pick up the car.

National car rental requires an extra $10/day for anyone under the age of 25. The lady at National then informed me that the dealer would not reimburse me this money. She said that she had seen this before from the dealer. She was then more than happy to connect me with the dealer. I spoke to the service manager who said that I had to call AoA, he couldn't do it, but it was doubtful that they would reimburse me. He compared it to me totalling the rental car. AoA would not pick up the tab if my personal car insurance did not cover the totalled rental car. This was the same thing. He said that I was buying "extra" insurance because i was under 25 years old.

To make a long story short, after some choice words on the phone, I hung up and walked out of the National Car Rental without a car.
Granted $10/day is not very much, (don't flame me for that) but my warranty explicitly said "loaner car" not "loaner car for over 25 yrs old and $10/day for under 25."

I waited a couple of hours to call AoA. I already had problems with this dealership when I bought my S. They completely blew me off as a kid just trying to test drive a fast car. They would not let me drive the S4. I ended up buying it from another dealer 45 minutes away. The original dealer is much closer, therefore much easier to drop off my car for service.
So, I already had bad feelings towards this dealer.

AoA was fantastic. The lady I talked to as astounded that the dealer would not have called them to straighten it out. She said that of course they would have picked up the extra $10. Even if they had not, the dealer should have done so. Tomorrow she is going to get in contact with this dealer and let me know what happens.

Thanks AoA.

Good stuff man. Looks like AoA is beginning to remember the "customer service" part of Audi.

Default If the car is in overnight for warranty work.

Not if you're in for routine service.
