APR S4 Stage II (100 octane) vs. APR S4 Stage II vs. APR 1.8T Stage III
We had a brief little second gear blast after a get together Saturday with the above. FWIW, from about 20/25 to 55/60 in second gear, the 100 octane S4 could pull about 1-2 car lengths away from the 93 octane S4, and the 93 octane S4 could pull about 2-3 car lengths away from the 1.8T Stage III. The 93 octane S4 could also walk away from the Stage III 1.8T from 80-110/120 by a few car lengths, but if there had been an opportunity, I think the APR Stage III 1.8T would have pulled a car length or two on a stock S4 at those speeds. The 100 octane S4 was really nice in traffic -- less turbo lag, and even more torque down in the 2000-4000rpm city street range. Too bad that stuff's $4/gallon. If it was only $3/gallon, I might end up wanting nothing but that if I had the choice.
