Wow, two very different routes you are talking about...

APR is a OTS tune while VAST would be a custom tune for your specific setup.

Honestly, go w/ what local support you have, I am sure APR has a local dealer somewhere in the St. Louis area.

If not, make the drive up to Ferndale and meet Prince and Mike.

Safe. When you increase boost should also upgrade DV's and TBB.

OMG! VAST! There is no substitute for a custom tune.

Vast, hands down, those guys are awesome over there. The customer service and customization options there are well worth it.

I agree with Bruce here.

However, you should keep in mind that it is all relative as you are chipping a 7 y/o used car. As for which tuner, Stage 1 SW has been around for a long time now and are relatively bullet proof now from all of the major players in the tuning game.

If you are going Stage 3, that's when I would definetly chose someone that's local to you.

I have gotten tuned by both companies and theyre both good, but as WMi S4 said the two companies provide differnt types of tunes. Assuming your car it stock, i would go with the APR for now. I had my first S4 tuned at Reid Vann too, got the APR 93 oct.. that shop does good work but are kinda pricey. And like bruce said, do the neccesary upgrades like DV's and TB.
