APR v5 stage -3 options/opinions?
I have a II+ with a 2-program APR v5 chip. I'm punting my K03's and stepping up to K04's (finally). My budget negates buying fueling goodies... so I'll just be running K04's.
Anyone know what my options are with the APR chip?

Run it as is, worked fine for me
I ran APR v5.0 with K04's with nothing else (stock 4bar fpr, no TCD or MBC) Car ran great, just not the fastest 3- setup. You might need to run an MBC in parallel to control boost spikes though, but that's about it. As for tweaking and making it faster, your SOL. APR doesn't like an MBC only (taking boost control away from the ECU). According to DAP you'll go into limp mode with any part throttle driving, probably not ideal ;-) So if you want to get the most out of your 3- setup either switch to GIAC K03 software and tweak it (BQship has made his car pretty f-ing quick with this setup) or get the GIAC 3- specific software if you're not a tweaker (800 for the software plus you need a 5 bar fpr IIRC).

For me, APR v5 on K04's was pretty close to what was on K03's. Dr. Jekyll is right..
Either run specific SW 3- SW (GIAC, AMS, OCT) or run MBC/TCD with GIAC K03's to take advantage of higher end boost.

I still have an APR ECU. Have asked them several times for 3- SW. No luck. Supposedly there is..
some old APR 3- code around if you have a 2000 S4. STFA for this.

I ran 3- with APR k03 codes for a couple months.
I never had any problems but i did get throttle cut once so I put in a MBC in parallel. With some minor tweaking I was able to get a Fats time of 4.6, which is pretty fast for the setup, I'd say. The only reason GIAC was faster was becuase you could run a MBC only which made you taper less PSI. More psi at redline = faster fats.
Overall It was pretty smooth and not too slow for my liking. I could have driven it like that for a while with no complaints. I eventually moved to giac X and it was faster. From there I went full homebrew and its anice </borat>.
Overall, 3- on APR k03 is fine. Like rktskicar says you aren't going to be that much faster than a 2+ setup, but thats still potentially a high 12 second car, which is fast in my book.
