Attention S4 driver's in NJ!!!
I was just at Dente Brother's towing in Newark to examine my stolen/destroyed car and saw an almost identical silver S4 (6-speed) from Bell Audi (e-mail me for the plate number, I think I remember that it's an unwritten rule not to disclose those here). Anyway, if that's you, I thought you might like to know where your car is. It looked to be in good condition except that the headlights were gone. Good luck.
And to everyone out there in NJ, be careful about where you park and for how long. Both the police dept and the towing company says there is a run on Audi's right now. And our locks/alarms are almost worthless. I think as a rough rule, the closer you are to Newark, the higher the danger.
Stay safe, my fellow S4ians.

There was an attempt on my car in Jersey..
It took place on 10/11/01 in the Clifton Commons parking lot. The bastards got as far as drilling a hole into the driver's side door to gain access. They started to drive a screw into the ignition switch in hopes of pulling out the locking mechanism but it appeared that the would be thieves were interupted during the process because it was still intact. Lying on the floor next to my car was the owner's manual of a Lexus that was parked next to my S4. I could only guess that it had been successfully stolen (I hope all is well with it's owner).
Anyway my car has been in the shop all this time and shall be there another 2 weeks (to get the necessary parts). Bellavia Audi assured me that the car has an immobilizer installed but I am very sceptical (I believe it was sheer luck and not the factory alarm that preserved the S4 in this situation). CAN ANYONE OFFER ADVICE ON HOW TO WIRE IN A SIMPLE SECONDARY IGNITION SWITCH< HAS ANYONE ATTEMPTED THIS? I want to install one because either our cars do not have a starter kill device or it is very easy for theives to overcome due to the amount of posts I've seen regarding stolen S4's. I truly thank you for any advice fellows! WE NEED TO DO SOMETHING TO COVER THE DEFICIENCIES IN THE FACTORY ALARM SYSTEM!

I just got my S4 replacement at Bellavia. It's funny...
The dealer was talking about some S4 which was almost stolen, but it was no luck for thieves because of the immobilizer in 01, 02 models.
I was telling him my story about my S4 being easily stolen from the parking lot.
