audi sport valve stem caps, stolen and recovered...(m).....[long]
while i was out running errands on saturday, four nieghborhood kids decided to help themselves (again) to all four valve caps from my wife's A4 1.8t which was parked in our driveway. i did a little detective work and was able to get the names and addresses of the four little f*ckers from some of the other kids playing in the area.
spoke to one of the mom's (who wasn't the least bit surprised about her son's budding crime career or the fact that i had the first names of all from the gang of four). naturally, she didn't know where her little sh*t was, but would speak to him when he got home and that i should feel free to speak to his father later that evening.
well before i was able to go see the one kid's father, he and two of the others show up at my house with one of the caps and a promise to get the other three and or pay for replacing them. so, not being a total sh*t myself, i gave them until 8:00 pm this evening to make good on their word. well, my wife just called and told me that all the caps have been returned.
naturally, none of the little future terrorist/ car thieves/ chop shop owners had anything to do with the actual crime or what they are used for after being acquired, but they knew where to look for them and gave up the kid (who i caught in the act of removing a tire valve cap from my S4 two weeks ago) that they say actually took them, who it turns out to be the son of an old friend whose husband is a cop. i'll be talking to her soon. next time i catch one of these p*ss ants in the act, they will be going home via police car.
btw, these kids are only about 8-11 yrs. old and the kids call the caps "chromies".

Pain in the ***! They use to do that at the mall near my house when I was growing up.
