Auto-leveling the Xenon Headlights
I am in Canada and wanna change lights on 01-S4 from regular lights to Xenon (in Canada we didn't get Xenon) and wanna add the auto-leveling , as it made a big diff in my 02 A4
Anyone knows the part# for this? Is it easy to install? I mean, is it a straight forward, plug and play upgrade if I got the xenon headlights, and balast or it's too much of a hassle?

xenon is straightforward. auto-leveling will probably not be.

Check the drivers side front and rear axles for little black sensors(arms attached). If they
are present you have a shot at getting it to work. Can also VAG the car to see if there is an "auto adjust" controller on the headlights... if no response from VAG I'd skip doing the levelers/actuators. Just install the xenons and leave the shipping plugs in. You can adjust the lights manually with the coarse and fine adjustment screws...

Thanks. I haven't got my headlights yet, in search of an HID housing... right now got halogens... would it still show up in VAG?
On that note, how big a difference does the Euro ones make compared to US? My '02 A4 stock xenons were GREAT!

On the S4 Euro housings/lenses are more sharp and a little brighter at the far edges
of the lighting pattern, noticible improvement over the US housings.
Headlight module should show up in VAG if the adjusters are there... do your lights move/adjust after powered up/on? The auto adjust ones self calibrate once turned on, can see the light pattern move down and then back up.

Auto-leveling retro will be a pita.....
It's not an easy install. The leveling sensors aren't there. Just go with E codes
You'll find the light output will be even better than your 02 OEM xenons.
