Aux. Water Pump TSB - What's the reason for it?

My auxiliary water pump is leaking. There has been a TSB to relocate the pump to just above the alternator. I am clueless as to why. Audi has a revised pump for the original location so I'd rather just re-install in the original location than doing more work. Anyone... anyone?

haven't seen the TSB, but the engine's hot and heat rises ;-)

I've replaced both the pump:

and the alternator:
