Default AWE DTS installed -- question on noise...m

just completed installation of the DTS and did a brief test drive right after install.

Observations:

- Noticable noice/vibration right off the bat upon engine start

- Slight whining noise at speeds between 5 - 30 MPH

- Significantly improved shifting (particularly upshifting from 1st to 2nd and downshifting from 3rd to 2nd) with Tanoga SS.

Has anyone experienced similar noice/vibration upon installation of a DTS? I know the DTS technically overrides the tranny/drive train dampening design but does it really significantly increase noice and vibration level inside the cabin?

Regardless, I still think this is a worthy upgrade for the S4.

Default I have no vibration or noise from mine.

Make sure you get all parts in place and all the bolts hand tight first, and then torque everything down per the instructions. This may help relieve any stress from having say, one side tightened down first, and then having to 'pull' the other side into place. Just an idea. I also put loctite blue on all the fasteners.

Also make sure to release the tranny before tightening all the bolts to again, relieve any preload.

Default I agree that there is more cabin noise/vibration with the DTS

although it is a very minor effect. I am guessing that Audi's intent on the drivetrain mounts is an effort to isolate some of this. My own feeling driving today was that I could definitely feel more vibration in the steering wheel and in the throttle than before. It is possible that more road shocks are also relayed into the cabin than before the DTS upgrade.

Shifting and drivetrain response is a big plus and seems to offset the minor road noise so far to me. I was thinking of temporarily removing the cross connect bar as a test to confirm the perceived cabin vibration levels.....

Thanks...I'll try that. I did use loctite blue on the 18mm bolts

Default Update - the vibrations I have noted are *very* minor and not obtrusive.

I do love the way this thing shifts now - nice.
