AWE ICs Vs RS4 ICs: Any conclusive tests done to show if they are truly superior? TIA

STFA already but couldn't find anything conculsive. A while back, Li-S4 did a series of test on IPP's ICs vs. RS4 ICs, S4 ICs and AWE ICs. But I don't think there was ever a similar test done outside of AWE on the AWE's ICs vs the RS4 ICs? On both dyno and out on the road. TIA.

I think any performance difference is questionable, but the AWE's install easier.

There is less bumper hacking necessary, and stock or samco hoses will work. FWIW I just ordered the AWE's since they're $200 off til tomorrow. Just pull the trigger you'll be happy!

AWE site has comparison - a little difference - but price is steep

They have flow and temperature drop comparison between stock, RS4, and AWE. The real gain is between RS4/AWE and stock.

Problem is the RS4 can be found on ebay for $700. Doesn't have the shrouds, but they are not necessary. Flow up front sucks no matter what.

The AWE are $1,400. Even on sale that the difference is huge. Besides, a little cutting nevered hurt anyone ;).<ul><li><a href="http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/part_detail.cfm?PMaI=1&amp;PMoI=4&amp;PEI=6&amp;PP =s4_27t_drivetrain.cfm&amp;PPT=Drivetrain&amp;IL=s 4%20intercoolers">http://www.awe-tuning.com/pages/shared/part_detail.cfm?PMaI=1&amp;PMoI=4&amp

Nothing against AWE, but will like to see an independent test done outside of AWE.

I have some AWE ones waiting to be installed next week

They were on sale.

Tell you what, it is a very high quality piece! My last name is also part of the serial number! I just thought it was cool.

There slightly bigger then RS4 IC's, install easier, come with all hardware, have shrouds, &amp; fit stock piping.

To me that's worth the extra $$.

Performance wise, I can't see them doing any worse then RS4 IC's, from the looks, they should be a little better then RS4s.

Captain Matt, I be 12-23-2006 10:33 AM

both are fine, buy whichever one is available to you at the time for less money.

so i guess you won't be selling it after all:)

AWE's work a tad better than RS4's........but RS4's may "recover" quicker

but i have no solid proof of this as of yet. I would get whatever is easier to get.....with slight preference with going with AWE IC's

it'll come in handy since you are running Hybrids 8^)
