AWE K04 Code and TC Spike issues... anyone having issues?

I was told that lots of AWE k04 cars are having TC issues and need MBC and TCD to make them run correctly.. I have STFA and only found 3 issues from older revisions of the code...

any truth to it???

I was under the impression that the AWE/GIAC code was solid...

Only times I've heard of MBC+TCD used on AWE K04 code, it was to increase boost.......

not to solve TC issues due to spiking. Then again, I haven't even heard of that many with AWE K04 code using MBC and/or TCD so I must be out of the loop.

what you were told is incorrect...

- the code is very smooth
- 20psi to redline

- when people have issues, it is usually:
1) old plugs
2) bad O2s
3) boost leak somewhere

- I have run at least 3 versions of their software (have been stage 3 for over 3 years) and did not have the probems you described

- when I had dying O2s I had an idle problem (was not stable) - new O2s fixed it immediately

- when I had misfire problems - new plugs fixed it immediately

- I run a TCD + EBC currently on AWE's KO4 code in order to run higher boost levels

no.....AWE K04 code is quite mild and very smooth, no MBC or TCD needed

the new AWE K04 codes are focused on being strong in the midrange rpms, at least thats what I gathered from speaking to Moss on Sunday. Like Doc and K04/16 North have said...you can use a MBC and TCD to increase/run more boost, it will make the car stronger/faster. I'm contemplating trying this out, though I'm pretty happy with the car overall.
