AWE STG 3 with race cats, have passed emission in past, now ck.eng lite keeps coming on, reset and
set to stock, and codes read SAE- Po421,P0431...VAG 16805, 16815...pre cats not race cats, warm up catalyst, abnk 1 and 2, efficiency below threshold. It states to replace warm up cat??? Is this necessary, That require engine pull doesnt it?? No headers yet. Any Ideas?? Thanks. Im calling Induktion tommorow, but input is appreciated.

Your AWE code doesn't cut out the rear O2s. You have three options, as I see it
1.) Have it coded out. That's what I'd do.
2.) Have rear O2s put in. 3.) Don't give a fvck. This is what I'm doing, but I don't need to pass any emissions tests. |
That's not related to rear O2's. It's a main catalyst issue/failure
It won't cause any performance issues, but can be a headache with later emissions tests/annoying CEL. When I had that with my AWE downpipes, I had them replace the cats (~$300).

I'm 99% sure those are rear O2 codes.... I know you know your sh*t and all but..
..that's what I've heard/read. Or wait are you saying it's because there are no pre-cats, bc we could be talking about the same thing...
|
Nigel is correct.
|
Then wtf?? I've been told many times it's due to the pre-cats being removed and therefore the rear
O2s not doing their thing. I know it isn't the main cat...I've had both these codes pop up on each car as soon as I put in DPs w/o precats.
|
My 200 cell DP cats throw those codes once in a while.

Re: Your AWE code doesn't cut out the rear O2s. You have three options, as I see it
Rear o2s are in, have to pass, and what is "coded out"?
|
Have you tuning SW (AWE) code it out. Idk if they do it, but I know some code will...
Code it out meaning have the SW ignore it.
|
Can you replace those cats for only $300?
