Default B&M short shift question

(i could not find one thread on the B&M)

I just had one installed on my 01 AR and I feel like when I am shifting into the top 3 gears (1st, 3rd, and 5th) it is forcing me to go at an angle rather than straight. It feels like there is a notch and the beggening of the gate, pushing the shifter to the right as I try to shift in to those gears.
anyone else experience this or have any ideas on how to correct?
I had a 00 s4 with the same kit and I do not remember having this issue. (of couse it did other crazy crap like wiggle around when I would disengage the clutch....but I digress)

Default You need to adjust it, the bottom bolt that attached to the linkage

is the adjustment bolt. Keep loosening it and relaligning the shifter until it's pefect - you can normally tell which direction you need to move it by how much slop you have in 1st vs. 6th, and if you feel any gates...

Default What's the build date on your '01. It might have the new style shifter.........

And your B&M will not work. Going off to the right is the classic sign of the old/new style problem. As far as I know, B&M does not make a new style. Your best bet is either the Toy_Guy or the Piggie modified shifters. Do you have the OEM to look at? If so, does the bottom piece point straight ahead, or is it tilted to the right?

Default Re: B&M short shift question

Sorry it took so long to respond...for your reference please read the info in my website:

www.toyguydesign.com

I'm sure that you have the wrong shifter.
