Default B5 S4 Changing Side Mirrors

So I currently have a 2000 S4 with the bigger same sized mirrors. I want to change them to the older style ones where one of the passanger mirrors is smaller. If I buy the mirror off of a 96-99.5 a4 is it a direct replacement?

Also is there any difference between the driver side of the 96-99.5 compared to the 99.5 + because I would also like to buy some aluminum caps, but if I do can I at least keep my driver side mirror???

Why do you want a stubby mirror?? If you want sport package mirrors, just buy them and replace

Default I figured I'd get more opinion posts rather than answer posts...lol

That always happens on forums.
I just like the stubby mirror, something different, plus I can get a set of aluminum housings off my buddy so I'm thinking of getting the mirrors so that I can use the housings.

Default I'll just change it to one main question then.

I currently have the normal mirrors. Just like you. Full sized passanger side mirror

I want to change my passanger mirror to the smaller one. So if I buy the entire mirror assembly from an older model A4 can I just swap in the mirror. The only thing that would affect it would be the opening in the door (which I don't see being different) and the plug that would connect the power/heat/auto dimming.
