Default B5 S4 Misfire

Ok, so I have been having some problems with misfires on cylinders 1 and 4 for quite awhile now. New coil packs have been installed on both of those cylinders as well as new (properly gapped) plugs in all cylinders. I also put new O2 sensors and new EGT sensors in the car and I am still having problems. Only happens when I go WOT but I am running out of ideas on how to fix it..... I had misfires in the past on only one side which turned out to be a bad ICM but now I am completely lost since cylinders 1 and 4 are on opposite sides.....Any help would be appreciated. Thanks

When was the last time you ran some fuel injector cleaner(Seafoam) in your gas? What type of sparkplug are you running? Had you ever had your intake off?

Try moving your spark plug boots I replaced mine and it cured my missfires. If you know how to use a digital meter, you can test the boots they should measure 2K ohms.

Aren't the spark plug boots part of the Coil Pack?

The spark plug boot can be seperated from the coil pack

The boot can definitely be the culprit.

It's a lot cheaper to replace the boot then the coil its self.

Most places wont allow you to return electrical parts such as coils either.

We have the boots available ready to ship below.

I haven't done the seafoam treatment before, I'll give that a shot first. If its still acting up I'll look into doing new boots for the coils. I'm running NGK plugs from ECS. Yes I've had the intake off before.

The reason I asked if you had you intake off before was 1 and 4 are both front cylinders. You might want to check the intake to head mounting bolt to make sure they didn`t come loose. If all else fails you can try the Bosch Platinum Side Fire Plugs (F5DPOR).

Ok, didn't really think about that before, I'll check the bolts later this evening. I just picked up some sea foam and put one can into the gas tank. I have another can that I was going to split between the oil pan and vacuum lines. Which vacuum line is best to use for that? The line that runs from the fuel pressure regulator or a different one? Thanks for the advice

I would just add a can to your gas with a full tank and call it a day. If you add it to you oil or intake you should change your plugs and oil shortly after.
