What are the symptoms of a bad ecu? I have been having speratic hard starts, but now the car does not start at all. Too twinterrors advice about it being a heat related issue, I stuck the ecu in the freezer (in a ziplock bag first) and after about a half hour, stuck it back on the car and it fired right up. Got home from work, shut the car off, tried to start it again, no start, out the ecu in the freezer, same darn thing, car starts right up. So my ECU is bad.....now what???? Think it might just be a cold solder??? Should I contact AMS about this??

Open it up and check the solder points when it doesn't work (warm).
