Bastards!
Here you sit talking about all the fun you're having while my Nogaro 6-speed sits in the driveway collecting dust while I hang out with my collarbone I broke on my mtb this weekend.
Probably the *only* time I wish I had the auto...

Re: You're also probably typing with one hand too :P (m)
Yup, left hand only for now. Broke it Sat'day so I guess it's at least 3 more weeks 'till I can throw the shifter forward.
I'll have to figure out how to wash it, though. Or the next time I hear "anything I can do" maybe the answer will be "wash my car?"
Hehe.

Wimp!
Last April ('99) I broke my right collarbone, broke a couple of ribs, and my wrist, had brain hemoraging requiring a stay in neurology ICU, and still rode my Cannondale Super Raven in the City 20 mile tour ride 4 days later!
Jim De Arras

Another example of how the Euro version is better! (m)
In the US, they almost never do an open reduction of the collarbone. But the European cyclists are fixed up with surgery and back in action within a few days.
I've got bumps on both sides from 25-30 MPH rides into the ground. Once I was chasing Lance Armstrong! (course he was only 15 or 16 at the time).
In a bit, you may be able to figure out how to shift with the other hand....or get enough motion to do it with the bad hand. I was up riding in about a week both times....
One more piece of advice. Get TWO of the bandage gizmos (clavicle collar) that pull your arms back. You can shower with them on, then switch and let the wet one dry for the next day. Heck, if your in the Dallas area, I can loan (maybe even give) you one of mine (hate to jinx myself thou..)

No Jim, you're a wimp!!!!!
Last week while riding my Merlin Ti, I endo'ed and had a 4 inch thick tree limb imbedded in between my 7th and 8th right ribs, punctured a lung, snapped three vertabraes, severed a jugular, gouged both eyes and a broke a pinky bone. Luckily, my Camelback broke my fall or my injuries would have been more severe. The next day I rode the 24 Hours at Canaan by myself and won :P
Jim, you are one crazy dude. I can't believe you did that.....with brain hemorraging?....YOU CRAZY!
Andrew Lee
