I like the look but they are a bit soft......

Really?
I drive in San Francisco fairly often and I've hit some potholes at speed that made me wanna cry. I have yet to bend a rim in almost 2 years of ownership. I've had all four refinished for curb rash, but I haven't bent one yet (knock on wood)

About 2" deep with a sharp edge at about 20mph...
..put a little ding in the inner lip. I did not even notice it until I started losing tire pressure (next day). Maybe it was just a one in a hundred shot but I was supprised that damage was done after such a "little" hit.
