Beru Ignition Coil Module Problem
Hi all,
I bought an ignition coil module for my S4 from ECS Tuning. I just received it and tried to pop it in and it didn't fit properly. The screw holes didn't quite line-up. The heat-sink plate on the ICM interferes with a metal post that is part of the metal plate that the ICMs mount to... I hope that makes sense. I noticed a few others have bought ICMs from ECS and never mentioned any fitment problems. This leads me to think that I was sent the wrong ICM.
I'm not blaming ECS, they themselves had to order it, so they may have received the wrong one to begin with. Anyway, their office is closed for the day so I thought I would ping the board to see if anybody else encountered this.
Thanks in advance.

Re: Did you try flipping it 180 degrees?
Thanks, lol. The part is symmetrical, so it wouldn't matter, and it would reverse the position of the connectors, so that would force the harness to be in a position it was not intended to be in. Thanks though.

Re: Send them back and buy from www.genuinevwaudiparts.com
That's actually the part number of the part sent from ECS.
I just suspect the wrong one was in the box, which is easily remedied. Or perhaps Beru changed the form factor, which would potentially affect the part no matter who I bought the Beru part from.
Advice appreciated, but I'll try to remedy the problem through ECS first. Any vendor can make a mistake or have a problem, but I believe it's in how they handle the problem that makes them worth their salt. So far I've had a great experience with ECS.
Thanks.

Re: Beru Ignition Coil Module Problem
Just wanted to follow-up with the outcome, for the sake of anybody who comes across this. I contacted ECS, and the gentleman was very good about hearing me out, and is working with his supplier to get the correct part. I'm so far satisfied with the service, and glad to know that I didn't have to fight to prove that the part didn't fit
