Default Ummm...

I believe APR is the only tuner that remaps the shift points for Tiptronics. Otherwise, I recommend you get a Tip-Chip for your transmission electronics, as well. (I believe that's a GIAC only thing.)

Default what you say?

I don't think APR has any offering at all for the tiptronic transmission itself. They have chips for the engine management, but from my understanding that is the same as the 6-spd version but with less torque at the high-end so people don't break their tiptronics.

GIAC is the only vendor with a Tip-chip that increases the shift speed and gets rid of the 'hunt' between 4th and 5th in chipped cars.

Default You are correct but...

...according to Brett of APR, who I spoke to at length about this at the BBQ, APR actually remaps shift points of the tiptronic transmission, via engine management programming. In fact, he suggested that if I go with the APR engine mangement chip, and I want to also go with a transmission chip, I should order a custom transmission chip that changes the shift timing and such, but *not* the shift points.
