I'm about 99% sure they can't. But I bet they'd be happy to call the police if the situation warranted it.

While I doubt they spend much time looking for traffic violations, AFAIK they have full police jurisdiction in any community serviced by the MBTA.

I think it's a full dollar now. It's worth trying to sneak on instead of paying the extra $.15
