Brake Pad/Lines change
Hello All,
Perfect day here in Sacramento, so Im down in the garage installing some Hawk HPS and SS brake lines...
Questions:
1. I read somewhere that to bleed brakes on our ESP equipped S4's requires a VAG tool. Is this true?
2. Does anyone in Sac have the tool needed to retract the rear piston? A 6-pack to borrow it?
3. Are there any other tech write-ups available on the pad change other than the one written for the A6 2.7t?
Thanks for your help!

Don't need Vag tool to bleed brakes.....
As long as you've not drawn air into ABS. Just bleed brakes same as any other car.
Rear brakes, I used a "G-Clamp" across the caliper, keep pressure on the piston with the clamp and at the same time screw the piston in using a large pair of pliers/grips. Works fine!

Re: Don't need Vag tool to bleed brakes.....
I did the same thing...used a modified American car piston tool to turn while I put pressure on with a regular piston compressor. Pain in the ***, but it worked fine...
So, bleeding is just like any other car, but you said 'dont get air into the ABS'...do you mean be sure the master cylinder doesnt run dry as Im bleeding?
