Brake upgrade time...
... I severely warped my rotors, and I ate through more than 50% of the stock pads at PIR today (Tuesday).
We've got an Audi day coming up at SIR on Monday, so I don't have much time to do something for my brakes.
Seems like a bad idea to just get more stock rotors & pads as I'll probably warp them on Monday.
Is it possible to just get some different rotors and pads that will be better suited to track use w/o having to replace the calipers (which seems to be where the huge expense of brake upgrades comes from).
I'd like to do a serious upgrade eventually, but I think that's probably more expensive then I really want to spend this week .

try Pagid pads, see Stratmosphere, I've made it through track days with these
no rotor score, no warp (if I cool off the brakes). They aren't as good as the STOPTECH or others but its an improvement

If these are the MTM Pagids, I agree. Best bang for the buck
Makes the next step way too expensive, though, not much gain available over these, other than duration, I suspect these will overheat on heavy track use.

glad it worked for you, some just don't want THAT "upgrade" (unless you're fixin' it later!)
besides... i cost a lot, and you can only use it once, and you can rarely get a Chevy van placed properly for corner entry braking, and then there's the areodynamic effects from this....

Let's be realistic...
You can spend $3-$4k on a F brake upgrade and still warp your rotors. You'll just be warping more expensive rotors. Unless you find a way to get air to the brakes--a lot of air--your 3,600+-lb. car is going to find some way to overheat your brake system. I just put Alcons on, and I'm still worried about warpage until I find a way to run hoses to the brakes.
