I've had the ABS BRAKE light on for a while, started after a track day, and it's on about every time I turn on the car. Occasionally, it's intermittent.

I VAG'ed it, and it said that it was the ABS Rough Road 1606 Fault code. From searching through the archives, it says that that is usually the ABS module gone bad. I want to be sure before I go to the expense of buying one.

If I do have to buy one, I will probably either go to the junkyard, or have it rebuild by "module master?".

Any advice for me?

FYI, 2000 S4, 6 spd, 80k miles.

cost was $350 for the whole unit. Dealer wanted over a grand. dont forget to bleed the brakes if you DIY.
