Can I tow 2 matresses and various junk on a trailer in the s4 across country or is that a bad idea?

I don't know the brand - but it's a class 1 reese-style hitch - the ball and it's bracket slide out
of the receiver so there's nothing sticking out when not in use.
It mounts to the spare tire well with a 4 bolts on the bottom of one bracket with another bracket that mounts up behind the bumper with another 4 bolts. I had to remove the bumper to install it.
Wiring sits in the trunk behind the side panel where the CD changer resides.
I've towed about 3,000 lbs - a heavy boat - with no problems but the weight limit is 2,000 if I recall correctly.
I tow the 4-wheeler and trailer (1,200 lbs) all the time though. It's fun dusting cars out of the toll booths with a trailer in tow!
