Has anyone with "old" clamps taken preventive measures?
Apologies if this is old news. My search turned up over 2000 entries on TBB..didn't have the patience to troll through.
In looking at Don P.s photos, it looks like placing something smooth between the clamp and the TBB where the points dig in might help alleviate the problem. Perhaps coating the back of the clamp with the liquid rubber coating available for hand tools or applying duct tape would work.

Some advice please...
This doesn't sound like my problem. I am having a hesitation usually around 2500 rpm in a high gear. I tried waiting for a couple tanks of gas, still happens.
I hear no whooshing sounds under the hood. I tried looking at the boots, without removing the clamps, no tears. Can the lost pressure be felt by hand while under open throttle.
Thanks,
Tango
