Can someone clarify how our Motronic system registers misfires? E.g. is it just via the coilpack....
....or does info from the knock sensors also get factored in?
I'm asking because I'm trying to understand the implications of a stuck or partially blocked injector, and how the system might interpret these two scenarios, especially the latter one.

Doh! <smacks forehead>....of course, that makes a lot of sense. I did not think of the....
...flywheel velocity as something other than slowly changing.
So my earlier question about what happens when an injector fails to deliver enough fuel, would have to be dealt with by the knock sensors causing timing to be pulled for that cylinder as a result of the lean condition, no?
I'm putting together an injector driver circuit for low impedance injectors, and was thinking about the various potential failures the fuel injection system might encounter.
